In February 2024, my husband and I immersed ourselves in the authentic culture of Lyon, France, for an entire month. It was an amazing experience living there - from shopping for our groceries at the outdoor markets throughout the week, to exploring and discovering the sights and history of the city.
Seeking genuine experiences, we discovered a French chef offering cooking classes. What better way to learn traditional French recipes and techniques from an award winning professional?
Little did we know that our first tarts marked the beginning of our culinary journey.
After three classes, including two focused on pastries, I discovered the challenge and artistry of baking was more than a skill—it was a passion that I couldn’t leave behind in France. Back home, this love for baking grew into a commitment to sharing that experience with others, so I started a cottage home bakery. Watching people savor the flavors and textures of these treats, seeing the joy they bring, and sharing a little slice of French culture makes every bake so fulfilling.
